In June, 2024, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel almost 1,500 km.s across Tibet for 3 weeks, culminating in a 50 km. hike around Mt Kailash, a mountain considered to be sacred by Tibetan Buddhists, followers of Bon, and Hindus alike.  This section documents those travels  in terms of photos and narratives, starting with time spent in Lhasa. Travels in Nepal

I first visited Nepal back in 1973 and have since been back 3 more times, the last being in 2025, when I went hiking in the Langtang Valley, about 120 km.s northwest of Katmandu.

Travels in the Lao PDR

I first came to the Lao PDR or Laos in1991, and ended up living there for almost 10 years, from 1996 to 2005. After that, I moved to live in Indonesia but made countless journeys there since 2005, both to catch up with friends, undertake consulting work, or just travel. These photos capture many of my experiences over the years.
